PoD can now enroll in a driving course to obtain a valid driving license for People of Determination, which entitles them to special parking licenses and designated spaces and ensures their convenience and the city’s accessibility.

Eligibility for Licensing and Inclusive Driving Lessons in Dubai
In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), to be eligible to obtain a driving license for People of Determination through a PoD driving school, one must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have medical clearance for a driving course in Dubai.
- Provide documentation for specific needs, such as assessments from specialists or recommendations from healthcare professionals.
- Comply with the licensing authorities’ regulations and requirements, including the completion of adapted driving lessons in Dubai.
- Keep in mind any legal considerations or applicable exemptions regarding driving privileges, licensing requirements, or vehicle modifications in the UAE.

The following is the fee structure for enrolling in LMV- Automatic adapted driving lessons in Dubai for People of Determination.

- Covers the fees for all tests, but only for the first attempt
- Includes enrollment registration fee
- Includes a 50% discount on the Institute enrollment fee, a 50% discount on Practical training on all shifts, and a 100% discount on theory lectures.
- Includes a 50% discount on all RTA services.
- Includes VAT
- Excludes the RTA License fee
- Excludes the eye test fee
PoD with valid health cards must pay AED 250 for the assessment at the Rashid Hospital Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department. PoD without a card must obtain one.
The cost of obtaining a new card from the hospital is AED 360. The cost of obtaining the medical clearance for a driving course in Dubai is AED 260.
Course Registration: Documents required for a People of Determination driving license in Dubai
Original Emirates ID
The original Emirates ID is required as proof of identity and residency when applying for a PoD driving license.
Eye Test
Applicants must undergo an eye test at the Bin Yaber Driving Institute Head Office or any other RTA-authorised optical shop.
Existing License
If you hold a foreign or a UAE driving license, it must be valid. Translation or attestation may be required for foreign driving licenses.
People of Determination Driving Course - Training Details
Training Schedule
Students can attend our adapted driving lessons in Dubai based on regular or shifting schedules.
Regular Schedule:
- Monday - Saturday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Shifting Schedule:
- Monday - Saturday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Monday - Saturday, 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM
- Sunday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Timings
The student can attend classes at their convenient time and day.
- Can take a maximum of 10 hours per week
- Minimum of 1 hour and maximum of 2 hours per day
Pick-up & Drop-Off
VIP transportation is free for POD students.

The Five Stages of Practical Training:
- Basic vehicle operation
- Driving on a two-way street
- Driving on a multilane street
- Special manoeuvers
- Highway, night, and independent driving - Yard and Assessment Test
Theory Lectures
Classroom and Online
Theory lectures are designed to mentally prepare the student for driving safely on UAE roads and are an important part of the driving license application and issuance process. The lectures are conducted in the Head Office Lecture Hall, but they are also available through our e-Learning portal.

- Attitude and Responsibilities of the Driver
- Knowledge of Traffic Rules and Regulations
- Characteristics of Road Users
- Driver’s Condition
- The Environment
- Driving on Freeways, Traffic Violations, and Route Planning
- Developing Forecasting of Hazards and Emergencies when Driving
- Traffic Accidents Case Studies and How to Act in an Accident
Training Process
To obtain a driving license for People of Determination, applicants must pass a series of tests and assessments conducted by the PoD driving school and RTA.

Payment Options
- AED 1,500 at the time of registration
- 50% of the contract fee before the start of the practical lessons
- All fees (except the RTA Smart Yard, RTA Road, and license fees) cleared before the Initial Assessment test
- AED 293.50 before the RTA Parking test
- 100 % of the contract fee before the Final classes and RTA Road test
