You can apply for an international driving license in Dubai via the RTA website. Once you submit your application, you will receive an OTP to your phone number, confirming your identity. As soon as you pay the necessary fees, you will receive an SMS within two working days that contains a link to the digital international driver’s license. To obtain an actual copy, you can visit the Customer Happiness Center or have the license sent to you via a Courier Company with additional charges.
Understanding the Requirements of RTA International Driving License
The RTA has set requirements for the International Driving License, which include the following:
- The already existing driving license needs to be valid.
- Except in the nation where it was granted, the client may use their international driver’s license anywhere in the world.
- Temporary and interim licenses are not eligible to get an overseas driving permit. To be able to drive, the customer needs to obtain the actual international driver’s license because digital licenses are not recognized abroad.
- The client may only obtain the international driver’s license in person at the client Happiness Center if they wish to modify their photo while applying.
- For the photo, the head must be in an upright position on a white backdrop in the shot. In case the photo does not match the requirement, the customer will be contacted by the support team. The customer’s application is reviewed by the support staff within two business days if they modify their profile picture.
- After submitting the application and paying the costs, the customer cannot withdraw the application.
- All driving license fees, including those that are unpaid, are the responsibility of the customer.
